Can you forgive Musk, Zuckerberg, and Bezos for their sins?
12 tech-billionaires ask personally in the stage installation The Church of Very Rich Angels. With deepfake technology, the richest men are animated to seek absolution from the audience.
On a three-wing altarpiece, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and more of the world’s most prominent figures appear as saints in a church of techno-capitalism. With their empires, they have changed the lives of everyone on the planet – including people, animals, and plants – with computers and microchips, neural networks and social media, electric cars and space rockets; with new digital forms of addictions, new mass delusions, and eternal waste.
Can you forgive them?
The Church of Very Rich Angels is produced by Exit Stage in collaboration with Enter Ghost, opening at Viborg Kunsthal in 2025 and available for international touring.
This hybrid piece is equal parts theatre and contemporary art with a message to its time. - Kristeligt Dagblad. ★★★★★★
The regret of the tech-billionaires have become an emotionally overwhelming manifesto in the hands of Madame Nielsen and Christian Lollike […] In its form, the work is an astonishing fusion between new technology and live theatre, framed by a aesthetics with roots in the image world of the Christian church. Added a prophetic gaze on the irreversible damage done to the Earth and its people by the tech-billionaires. Gasp! – Dagbladet Information.
