Is the Danish agricultural sector going through a crisis? Is it possible to produce foodstuff in alternative ways? Who represents modern farming? What are the conditions for farm animals? From a cultural standpoint, does agriculture play an important role in defining Danish self-awareness?
Farming in Denmark cannot be told through a single narrative, it takes multiple stories. This is why CaféTeatret in collaboration with a number of international artists pitch into Danish agriculture. Each artist has been presented with a designated space at the theatre and a bag of money and in this framework they each investigate farming from individual perspectives. The result is a “tour de farming” where the audience will experience everyday realities of modern farming up close, inviting them to workshops, seminars, or just a cup of coffee with a real farmer.
